Survivors of human trafficking suffer unbelievable physical and psychological trauma from which it can take a long time to recover. Statutory support is only provided for a limited period which is often not sufficient for dealing with the long-lasting consequences. They often need tailored long term support in order to rebuild their lives and to avoid re-exploitation. Our aim is to provide this support.
In March 2014, Flourish began to address these needs, ensuring that survivors have long-lasting support and access to key services such as counselling, advocacy, housing, education and training. Flourish’s support starts where the statutory services finish.
The charity is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. The aim of Flourish is to support trafficked people to overcome the trauma of their past and move towards a brighter future living independently in the community; gaining control of their own lives.
